Build teams from registrations

Let the join form be the census. Review submissions daily, convert them, then create teams from who actually registered — not from a blank spreadsheet.

Convert submissions

Open the registration page’s Submissions tab (or the dashboard widget). Convert creates a roster player and can send a parent invite.

• Under 13: add the player first and link a parent. The parent grants app access. Do not send the child a login.
• 13+: optional direct invite after the parent is on file.

If you already have a complete SportsEngine CSV, ask support for a white-glove import — there is no self-serve CSV upload.

Sports, then teams

Add the sport and positions once (Sports & positions), then create teams (Create your teams):

• If age groups are already known, light placeholders (U14, U16) are fine
• Otherwise wait until submissions cluster, then name teams from that

Invite coaches onto those teams. Messaging channels are created automatically from membership rules — leave them on the defaults and skip Custom until you have a reason. See Messaging & channel membership.

After the first tryout

These are useful next, and they live in Help rather than this playbook:
