The first public event is usually a tryout. One home gym is enough. This is a public Event (marketing page), not a team Calendar practice.
One location
Add your primary facility under Locations with a full address and a Maps link. Game venues and tournament sites can wait. See Locations.
Create the event
Open Events and create a page:
- Title, date, and time
- Hero image (reuse the Home slideshow photo if you have nothing else)
- Link the registration page you already published
Publishing an event turns on Event Pages. The public URL still 404s until the site is published.
Mode (choose carefully)
You can change mode while the page is a draft. After the first publish, mode is locked — unpublish does not unlock it.
- Registration — embeds the join form. Use this for a free tryout.
- Tickets + registration — pay first to hold a seat, then parent and player details. Use this to charge a tryout fee. Requires Stripe payouts Active.
- Tickets — purchase only (dinners, games). Usually not tryouts.
- Open — information only. No sign-up.
If you pick Registration-only and later want to charge, you must delete the page and create a new one. Details: Event ticketing & contacting buyers.
After it is live
Share the link in the channels families already use. Practices, games, and recurring schedules belong on the team Calendar once teams exist — not on this first event.
