New clubs usually start with a tryout: Create your first tryout. Charge a fee only after ticket payouts are connected.
Public Events are marketing pages on your club site, separate from the team Calendar. Open Events in the admin sidebar to create a page and choose how people attend.
Publishing an event turns on Event Pages automatically. The public URL still 404s until your public site is live: Public Site → Home → Save & Publish. You can leave the home page empty. Logo and brand colors are not required. See Publish your site.
Event modes
When you create an event, pick one mode. You can change it while the page is still a draft. After the first publish, mode is locked — unpublish does not unlock it. To switch modes, delete the page and create a new one.
- Open — information only (yard sale, open house). No tickets or sign-up.
- Registration — the event page embeds your registration form (tryouts).
- Tickets — purchase is the only gate (charity dinner, game).
- Tickets + registration — pay first to hold a seat, then complete camper and parent details (skills camp).
Ticketed events need Stripe payouts connected before you can publish paid tickets. Only the club owner can start Connect from the Events hub or Billing. Open and registration-only events work without Stripe.
Fees & payouts
Buyers pay the price you set. That amount is not marked up at checkout.
Your club payout is the ticket price minus:
- Card processing — Stripe’s standard US rate, currently 2.9% + 30¢ per order (not per ticket).
- Team Bloom — 50¢ per ticket (your club’s rate may differ if support has set an override).
Example: a $25 ticket costs the club about $1.53 all-in (~$1.03 processing + 50¢). SportsEngine HQ Digital’s published technology fee is 3.75% + $1.75 (~$2.69 on the same $25 ticket).
AMEX or international cards can cost Stripe more than 2.9% + 30¢; Team Bloom absorbs that gap. This fee is not a cut of your dues — keep the processor you already use for registrations and invoices.
Money lands in the Stripe account the owner connects from Events or Billing (Ticket Payouts). Team Bloom’s $25/month subscription is billed separately.
Selling tickets
On the event’s Tickets tab, add ticket types (name, price, capacity). The public event page shows checkout: name, email, and an optional phone. Logged-in members get those fields prefilled from their account.
Buyers receive digital tickets by email. Team Bloom does not text tickets.
Named seats (for example “Guest of Mei”) are labels on the tickets, not separate contacts. The person who paid is the buyer.
Contacting buyers (including non-members)
Owners and admins open the event → Orders.
The person you can reach is the buyer, not a named guest. Guest names such as “Guest of Mei” have no email of their own — a venue change or cancellation goes to the buyer, and they tell their guests.
- Click the buyer’s name or Contact to open a drawer without leaving the list. Email, call, and text use the address and optional phone from checkout (or the member’s profile phone if they matched a club account).
- Email on the row is a tap-to-mail link.
- Copy buyer emails copies unique addresses from paid orders so you can paste into BCC when you need to tell everyone at once (venue moved, event canceled).
- If the buyer is a guardian in your club, View guardian profile is a secondary link inside the drawer. Non-members do not have a profile page.
Phone at checkout is optional. If a guest skipped it, email still works.
Camp orders work the same way: even when a seat still needs registration, you contact the buyer from Orders.
Scan log uses the same contact rules. Click an attendee name to open the player profile when the seat is on the roster, or the buyer contact drawer for a guest. Camp rows also link the drop-off / pick-up adult (or registered parent) to their guardian profile.
Check-in
Any logged-in club member can scan tickets (not only owners and admins). Open Check-in from the Events hub or the event page. The full Scan log tab is owner/admin only.
Member tickets
Parents and players see seats that belong to them under Tickets in the app, including receipts for orders they paid for. See Players, guardians & invites.
